Ken Patton, Everyday Hero
A business owner that was ready to quit his business, walk away and just do something else. He was burnt out and was not having fun. He came back to life after he completed the Bravehearts Leadership Development Training Program and has continued to do Business Consulting for his business. Ken Patton is not only the owner of LB Printery in Laceyville, Pennsylvania, but he is also the Mayor. When someone approached him to take a look at the courses that Primeco Education offers he figured that he had nothing to lose and jumped right in to shift his mindset about life and business. Ken is now having fun in whatever he does. He has the ‘You can do it’ attitude and focuses his energy on how he projects when talking to someone and most importantly, how he leaves people after having a conversation with them. He began to realize that he is the same as everybody else; he is capable and all things are possible. So, as he stated: “Bring it on!” When I asked him who he has become, he simple said that he has become himself. That he is comfortable with whom he is and it is just easy to be. He continues to work on opening up in his personal relationships with family and friends. Thinking and playing small and in his comfort zone is not an option for him anymore. Of course, all the breakthroughs are great, but the only thing that keeps it alive is putting the practices in place to keep remembering what you have learned. Ken has taken on having a daily schedule where he can keep track of everything, as you can imagine his schedule can be pretty fully with being the Mayor and all. He has taken his printing business to a whole new level where he is now cross training his employees to do multiple jobs and creating procedures that anyone can use to get things done. His business is continuing to grow at a steady pace and he finds that they are producing more, but is not having to work as hard. Ken is very present to having fun in his life and said that this is really the best money that he has ever spent because he really does get something new every day. He isn’t locked into the business anymore but just having fun and being responsible too. He is continuing to grow and increase his business all the time. But, he is also taking time to live his life and enjoy the moments and he is having more time to spend with his daughter. Ken, you continue to inspire us with who you are and how you handle your life, for that, we acknowledge you as this month’s Everyday Hero. |
